Window handles are an important part of your windows. They make it easier to open and close the window while also providing some protection against burglars. Plus, they can add a nice touch of décor to your home. Window handles are also often made of plastic or metal, which means they're susceptible to rust and weathering as time goes by. Eventually, you'll need to replace them with new ones for safety reasons or just because you want to change their appearance. Here's how to do it!
Step 1: Prepare the Window
Before you can replace the window handles, you'll need to take care of a few preliminary steps. The first step is to prepare your window by removing any debris from the window sills. This will ensure that the new handles will fit in snugly and securely. Next, you'll need to remove the old handle. You can do this by unscrewing it from the window sill with a screwdriver or pliers - whichever tool works best for you.
Step 2: Remove the Old Handles
The first step is to remove the old handles. Use your pliers and carefully remove the nails that are holding on the old handles. Carefully pull out the old handle from the window frame.
Step 3: Replace with New Handles
This is the final step. You should have your new handles in hand and ready to go. Make sure they’re the correct size and shape before you start. The old handle will most likely be in a pile of debris on the floor, which makes it difficult to figure out what type it is.
Now, take the new window handle and screw it onto the window frame from inside of your house or business. Be careful not to over tighten as this could damage the window frame itself.
If you were unable to remove all of the old handle screws, use a screwdriver to unscrew them by hand as necessary. Finally, attach your new window handle with screws too!
